Chapter 1: The Footage No One Could Escape
Chapter 1: The Footage No One Could Escape
The first sound Marcus heard wasn’t Isabella’s trembling voice.
It was Khloe’s.
A weak, ragged gasp as she fought to breathe while shielding their unborn daughter with both arms.
Marcus dropped to his knees beside his wife.
“Khloe… look at me.”
Her eyelids fluttered.
“I… I didn’t fall…”
His heart stopped.
Blood stained the side of her white maternity gown.
Not much.
But enough.
Enough to turn every instinct inside him into cold, controlled fury.
“Call the trauma team!” Marcus shouted.
Elaine Parker was already reaching for her radio when another figure hurried through the doorway.
Dr. Nathan Brooks.
Chief of Maternal Emergency Medicine.
Khloe’s uncle.
The instant he saw his niece lying on the marble floor, every trace of professional composure vanished.
“Move!”
The medical team quickly surrounded Khloe.
Nathan examined her abdomen with practiced hands.
His expression hardened.
“Possible placental injury.”
Marcus felt the world tilt beneath him.
“Save them.”
Nathan met his eyes.
“I’ll do everything I can.”
As they rushed Khloe toward the emergency operating suite, Isabella reached for Marcus’s arm.
“Marcus… please listen. She attacked me first.”
He slowly lowered his gaze to her hand.
Then gently pulled his arm away.
“I saw enough.”
“No—you don’t understand—”
“I understand exactly what I saw.”
Hospital Security Director Daniel Cruz entered moments later with a tablet in his hand.
“Mr. Thorne…”
“We have security footage.”
Isabella’s confident smile vanished.
“There… there aren’t cameras inside private suites.”
Daniel answered evenly.
“Not inside.”
“But three cameras monitor the hallway, the entrance, and the sitting room.”
“They captured everything that happened before and after the assault.”
For the first time that night…
Isabella looked genuinely afraid.
Chapter 2: The Video That Destroyed Every Lie
Within minutes, the footage was playing inside the hospital’s executive conference room.
Marcus stood in silence.
Elaine Parker.
Daniel Cruz.
Dr. Nathan Brooks.
Even Isabella’s own attorney had arrived.
Nobody spoke.
The first recording showed Khloe quietly entering the private suite after leaving the charity gala.
She looked exhausted.
She removed her heels.
Sat carefully on the couch.
One hand rested protectively over her seven-month pregnant belly.
Then Isabella entered.
Smiling.
The smile lasted only seconds.
Her face twisted into pure hatred.
She pointed at Khloe.
“You stole everything that should have been mine.”
Khloe never raised her voice.
She simply answered,
“Marcus chose his family.”
Isabella slapped her.
Hard.
Gasps filled the room.
The second camera showed Khloe stepping backward.
Trying to avoid another confrontation.
Instead…
Isabella lunged forward.
She shoved Khloe with both hands.
Khloe lost her balance.
She hit the marble floor.
Before anyone could react—
Isabella kicked her abdomen.
Once.
Twice.
The room froze.
Marcus closed his eyes.
Daniel quietly stopped the recording.
No one could deny what they had witnessed.
Marcus turned toward Isabella.
His voice was frighteningly calm.
“You won’t touch my wife ever again.”
Hospital security immediately placed Isabella under arrest.
As officers led her away, she screamed,
“You’ll regret this, Marcus!”
He never looked back.
His only concern was the woman fighting for her life beyond the operating room doors.
Chapter 3: The Surgery That Changed Everything
Three hours passed.
No updates.
No news.
Marcus remained outside the operating room without moving.
Nathan finally emerged.
His surgical gown was stained with blood.
Marcus stood instantly.
Nathan removed his mask.
“They’re alive.”
Marcus nearly collapsed from relief.
“But…”
Nathan hesitated.
“The baby came early.”
“Your daughter is in the neonatal intensive care unit.”
Marcus nodded.
“And Khloe?”
Nathan’s eyes softened.
“She lost a dangerous amount of blood.”
“We controlled the bleeding.”
“But recovery won’t be easy.”
Marcus entered Khloe’s room.
She was unconscious.
Machines surrounded her.
He gently held her hand.
“I’m sorry.”
“I should have protected you.”
A tiny voice interrupted him.
“Mr. Thorne?”
A nurse stood beside a transparent incubator.
Inside…
A tiny baby girl opened her eyes.
Marcus had never cried in public.
Until that moment.
He whispered,
“Hello, little miracle.”
